Facebook Account Maintenance Tips: How to Disable Your Account on Facebook

When you experience major conflicts like your account was hacked or there was someone who’s trying to steal your identity, the best way to secure yourself is to disable your account in Facebook to avoid further dilemma and to keep yourself safe from harm. Deactivating your account in Facebook is simple. Here are the basic Facebook account maintenance tips to start with:

1. Go to http://www.facebook.com. Sign in using your email address and password. Then click the “Login” button.

2. From your homepage, click the “Account” tab on the upper left side of the page. From there, scroll down your mouse to “Account Settings” and click.
            
3. The page will bring you to “My Account ” page. Under this page, look for “Deactivate Account” and in line with it, click “deactivate”.

4. Upon clicking, Facebook will ask you to state your reasons why you have to deactivate your account. Click the radio button beside the provided reason that you have selected. If you click on “Other”, explain your reasons by typing it inside the text box. Then click the “Confirm” button.
